The Prone Position

The most common position, and the position almost all shooters will have practiced.
There will be at least one prone practice on every match except the Urban match!

Rules: B6.2, B6.2.1 Prone:

The butt plate of the rifle must be placed against the shoulder or armpit. No part of the supporting arm forward of the elbow must touch the ground. A sling may be used to support and if firing from cover. the structure of the cover may used for support.
Notwithstanding this, in the practical optic class only, the Hawkins position maybe used where the forward supporting wrist and hand may touch the ground and if using a bipod or other supporting device forward of the trigger the supporting hand may be placed on the ground between the pistol grip or rifle butt. 
Rear bags and other buttstock devices are not permitted.
 

1. Sling: may be used to support the position.

2. Bipods: may be used in the practical optic class.

Rules A2.2.4 Bipods must remain in the folded or retracted state at the start of a stage and may only be deployed when on the firing point and moving into final firing position. A bipod must remain fitted to the firearm for the duration of that stage or practice.
